Hotel - Hotel Pez Espada

The Pez Espada was the very first luxury hotel on the Costa Del Sol, opening its doors back in the glamour days of the 50’s. A magnet for film stars and royalty, its guest book included the likes of Sean Connery, Sophia Loren and the King Juan Carlos of Spain. Photos of some of the most famous guests line the hotel’s aptly named ‘Corridor of Fame’. And the most famous guest of them all, Frank Sinatra, even has a bar named after him. Fifty years on and this place is still just as popular as ever. In fact, it’s what we call a repeat hotel – people just keep on coming back year after year. So, what’s the secret to its success?

First up there’s the location. It’s in a prime spot, right next to Torremolinos’ beach promenade. You can literally wander through the hotel grounds down to those famous sun-baked sands. But that’s not all. La Cariheula – the cutesy Spanish quarter known for its tapas bars and fish restaurants – is only a short stroll away. Five minutes in the other direction and you come to Benalmadena’s swish marina.
